So apparently Tony Blair can’t keep his mouth shut. The former UK Prime Minister revealed that he had promised Queen Elizabeth II he would not see the movie “The Queen” when it came out in 2006. The movie, starring Helen Mirren as Elizabeth, deals with the aftermath of Princess Diana’s death and the dealings between the Queen and Blair to handle the matter. This promise not to see the movie was made during weekly audience with the Queen, and due to the sensitive nature of the subject matter of the movie, in addition to he divulging of a confidential conversation, Buckingham Place is quite understandably peeved at the matter.
Oh Tony. I loved you so. But do not, DO NOT, cross the Queen. And what is with the PMs dissing her lately? Gordon Brown was part of the problem with the Queen being left out of the D-Day commemorations in Normandy this year, and supposedly he has been arriving late to their weekly chats as well. These men are so stupid…have they not noticed that while they are either a) out of a job or b) barely holding to it, that the Queen has been there well before they arrived, and will be there long after they are out of power?
